This is the easiest Brownie recipe you will ever bake.

It is a Mary Berry recipe and you don’t have to melt chocolate or anything.

Just bung it all in the bowl together and give it a good mix.

Don’t leave out the choc. chips as the texture will be affected.

10 oz./ 275g margarine or butter

13 oz./375g caster sugar

4 large eggs

3oz/75g. Cocoa Powder

40z./100g Self-raising Flour

4oz./100g Plain Choc. Chips

or you can chop up a bar of chocolate

OVEN  180 C fan

GREASE & LINE   12″x 9″ Cake Tin or Roasting Tin

bottom and sides of tin with Baking paper

MEASURE  all ingredients into large bowl

MIX  with electric mixer until evenly blended

SPOON  mixture into the tin

SPREAD  evenly to the corners and level the surface

BAKE   40-45 minutes until Brownies have a crusty top and  a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

COOL  in the tin and then cut into 24 squares

STORE  in an air-tight tin.

  1. Love this, have pinched the recipe, although can’t really get chocolate but will try it anyway 🙂

    • Hi Claire, I knew you would get excited with this one but it won’t work well without the chocolate. It is an easy recipe because it uses Cocoa Powder and the choc. chips or chopped choc. bar gives it the right texture. Is anyone coming to visit you who can bring some?
